WHOLE LOTTA LOVE Producer Passes

SplitScreen Entertainment is sad to report that its founder A.J. Confessore has passed away. He was the originator and driving force behind the WHOLE LOTTA LOVE project, the rock & roll tribute to all the big girls who make the world so beautiful. A.J. dedicated the last 3 years of his life to its creation and promotion, even during his final 12 months when he knew his remaining time was short. Requiring more effort, love and sacrifice than anything he'd ever attempted, he regarded WHOLE LOTTA LOVE as his proudest achievement, combining two of his great joys into one passion project. From the outset, Confessore had the loftiest of ideals for this endeavor and its potential to influence positive change in the perception of larger women. Though his plans were sadly cut short before he could realize some of his more ambitious goals, A.J. Confessore left this world believing he had done something worthwhile with WHOLE LOTTA LOVE and knowing that others would carry on where it left off. Enjoy those heavenly bodies, good sir.

Condolences may be left on A.J. Confessore's personal Facebook page at the following link:

WHOLE LOTTA LOVE Performer Needs Your Help Now

SplitScreen Entertainment is coming to the aid of its friend and colleague, rock & roll comic C.C. Banana. C.C. was recently in the process of recording a solo album (in commemoration of his 10th anniversary) when his family was struck by severe financial hardship, brought on by the sudden decline of an ailing family member. As a result, he is now on the verge of losing the house he has lived in since birth. In effort to save the family home, SplitScreen Entertainment is organizing a series of auctions on behalf of C.C. Banana, including autographed items from his rock & roll friends and heroes. Fans wishing to donate directly may do so via GiveForward in exchange for various levels of rewards. The first batch of auctions is now online, with more to be added in the coming weeks. SplitScreen Entertainment asks all who have enjoyed C.C. Banana's many interviews and adventures over the years to come to his aid in his time of need.

The fundraiser and auctions can be viewed at the following link:

WHOLE LOTTA LOVE Keeps You Metal Healthy

After some 2 years of planning and production, WHOLE LOTTA LOVE is at last making its way into the hands of those who contributed to it. Seen here is veteran Quiet Riot drummer Frankie Banali, hailing the heavenly hottie with his horizontal horns! On the tribute, Frankie joins with fellow Quiet Riot member Alex Grossi and plus-sized singer Celisa Stratton on a unique interpretation of "Whole Lotta Love" by Led Zeppelin. A sample of the song is available at the official WHOLE LOTTA LOVE Facebook page.

WHOLE LOTTA LOVE Unlisted Bonus Track Revealed

In addition to the thirteen songs that comprise the WHOLE LOTTA LOVE album, there also exists an unlisted gem of a bonus track after the music ends. Though some alert listeners have already discovered it, its existence has gone largely unnoticed... until now! The heretofore unrevealed audio features one of the album's contributors (rock & roll comic C.C. Banana) caught having an intimate encounter with a mystery female celebrity! Without giving away the surprise, it can be confirmed that the lady in question is a beloved pop culture icon and plus-size pioneer whose career spans over 30 years. C.C. can be heard hitting on her at the end of his song (a cover of the Kiss tune "Spit," appropriately rechristened "Split") before ultimately wooing her by the album's conclusion. Much like himself, the Banana prefers his women round and ripe.

The unlisted bonus track can be heard at the following link:

WHOLE LOTTA LOVE Roasted on E! Network / The Soup

WHOLE LOTTA LOVE has been lampooned on the hit E! Network series "The Soup," infamous for spoofing the best (and worst) in talk shows and reality programs. Culled from a recent appearance on "The Dr. Oz Show" was a clip of Executive Producer A.J. Confessore talking about the WHOLE LOTTA LOVE album... albeit presented wildly out of context! Host Joel McHale then took the ball and ran with it, making up some less-than-flattering song titles based on the album premise and cover art (such as "No Quarter Pounder" and "Glazed and Confused"). Naturally, a batch of genuine WHOLE LOTTA LOVE CDs was sent to "The Soup" offices shortly thereafter, for them to sample the real deal. If they thought their parody was entertaining, just wait until they hear the actual songs performed by members of Quiet Riot, Twisted Sister, Cinderella, Danger Danger, L.A. Guns, Trixter, W.A.S.P., Tuff, ZO2 and others! To continue their oh-so-clever food theme... "The Soup" will soon eat its own words!

WHOLE LOTTA LOVE Gets Mention in The Village Voice

New York news staple The Village Voice has run an eye-opening feature on the preference for plus partners, titled (believe it or not) "Guys Who Like Fat Chicks." Included is a reference to the WHOLE LOTTA LOVE album, which is praised for being a "BBW-friendly compilation." The article's author Camille Dodero has since conducted a new interview with WHOLE LOTTA LOVE Executive Producer A.J. Confessore for a follow-up piece about the album itself, for publication at a later date. Further information will be provided as it becomes available.

WHOLE LOTTA LOVE Lands in CMJ Loud Rock Top 10

Music from WHOLE LOTTA LOVE has been getting its share of radio airplay lately, from stations like WSCA/106.1 FM in New Hampshire (where its DJs have somehow managed to give spins to each and every song). The album is in such heavy rotation that it's even charted in the all-important College Music Journal. In fact, WHOLE LOTTA LOVE just ranked in the CMJ Loud Rock Top 10 category for its third week running, thanks to frequent plays of such standout tracks as "Big Girl (You Are Beautiful)" by Steve Brown and "Big Bottom" by Eddie Ojeda's Band of Steel. SplitScreen Entertainment offers its sincerest thanks to Metal Director Mark Pruett of Black Night Meditations for showing WHOLE LOTTA LOVE a whole lot of love!

Confessore, revealed are the project's humble origins as a college radio mix tape, as well as the challenges it faced before emerging as the star-studded celebration it would one day become. Also included are comments from album contributors Phil Lewis of L.A. Guns and plus-sized blues icon Candye Kane.

WHOLE LOTTA LOVE Reviewed in Steppin' Out Magazine

Reviewed by Steppin' Out

Tribute albums are a dime a dozen these days, but a new one has come out of left field to turn the entire genre on its ear. In fact, it's probably safe to say that WHOLE LOTTA LOVE: An All-Star Salute To Fat Chicks is the unlikeliest tribute album of all time. Seriously, who in their right mind would think to combine all those words together in one phrase, let alone serve as the name of a rock & roll album? Though the title itself is enough to bring an unintentional smile to one's face, the outrageous cover art, inspired song selection and impressive talent lineup are more than enough to support this seemingly ludicrous premise.

In a nutshell, WHOLE LOTTA LOVE collects a baker's dozen of songs that pay tribute to the fuller figured female. Big booties, bodacious bosoms and overall overabundance -- if it's bouncy and bountiful, it is praised on this album. Whether or not you appreciate such inflated femininity in real life, it's hard not to get caught up in the admiration of it at play on this disc. If only Oprah, Kirstie and Wynonna could sample this platter, they might even learn to love their largeness (instead of subjecting the population to their umpteenth attempts at losing it).

Lending credibility to this unlikely affair is the titular "all-star" roster, culled largely from the heroes of the original MTV generation. Included herein are performances by members of such platinum-selling heritage acts as Quiet Riot, Cinderella, Twisted Sister, Danger Danger, L.A. Guns, Trixter, W.A.S.P. and others, recreating songs like "Fat Bottomed Girls" by Queen, "Whole Lotta Rosie" by AC/DC, "Baby Got Back" by Sir Mix-A-Lot, "Unskinny Bop" by Poison, "Big Bottom" by Spinal Tap and many more. There's even a slow, sultry cover of Led Zeppelin's "Whole Lotta Love" sung by a bona fide fat woman, making for a literal interpretation of the song indeed. It's not nearly as ridiculous as it sounds and actually makes for one of the album's standout tracks. Each and every one of the big girl anthems on this disc is performed with an enthusiasm that's hard to ignore, whether or not you prefer your muffins with tops on them.

Despite the tongue-in-cheekiness of its title, WHOLE LOTTA LOVE: An All-Star Salute To Fat Chicks is a solid rock offering by a formidable assemblage of metal mainstays, singing the heretofore unsung glory of fat girls. It's an admittedly odd pairing of elements that somehow combine to feelgood effect. The only thing that could have potentially made this effort better is the inclusion of some true industry heavyweights (pun intended) like Ann Wilson or Aretha Franklin; music icons as famous for their size as they are for their singing. In the end, WHOLE LOTTA LOVE proves to be a genuine love letter to the larger ladies who make the rockin' world go 'round.

For those with lots to love, we salute you!

WHOLE LOTTA LOVE Gets Kissed Again... by Ace Frehley

WHOLE LOTTA LOVE Executive Producer A.J. Confessore recently had the chance to meet with another of his lifelong rock & roll heroes: founding Kiss lead guitarist Ace Frehley. Ace had just finished performing a brief acoustic set at New York City's Carnegie Hall, accompanied by Eddie Ojeda of Twisted Sister. On hand that evening to present Eddie with a copy of the tribute, A.J. was more than happy to also provide one to the Space Ace himself (who expressed interest in the project once Ojeda informed him of his own contribution).

WHOLE LOTTA LOVE Gets Kissed... by Peter Criss

WHOLE LOTTA LOVE Executive Producer A.J. Confessore recently had the chance to meet with one of his lifelong rock & roll heroes: founding Kiss drummer Peter Criss.
